The APHC leader and Acting Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, while addressing a gathering in Bandipore, said that the first martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azeemat, Sheikh Abdul Aziz would be observed across Jammu and Kashmir on August 11. He urged the people to come to Eidgah on the day to pay homage to the Kashmiri martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of Kashmir. “Blood of martyrs would not go waste but would definitely bring positive results”, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza said. He added that it due to the Kashmiri martyrs that today the Kashmir dispute was being discussed in international forums and the world community was taking keen interest in its solution. The APHC leader maintained that Sheikh Abdul Aziz was a committed and dedicated leader whose sacrifice had given a new dimension to the ongoing liberation movement. » Occupation authorities asked to produce Aasiya in court Meanwhile, the High Court has directed the authorities to produce the illegally detained Chairperson of Dukhtaran-I-Millat (DM), Aasiya Andrabi in person before Court on Monday. The writ petition filed by Aasiya in which she challenged her detention under Public Safety Act and her shifting to a jail outside the Kashmir Valley, came up for hearing in the Court of Justice Hakim Imtiyaz. The court asked Deputy Advocate General, N A Shah whether the authorities had complied with the court orders. On July 27, Justice Mansoor Mir of the High Court had directed the puppet administration to comply with its orders by July and shift Aasiya from Jammu, failing which the Court had directed Commissioner Secretary Home and SP Jail to appear in person before the Court. Advocate Qayoom also submitted before Justice Hakim Imtiyaz that his orders passed on July 14 giving a deadline of 48 hours to Shift the DM Chief from Jammu jail was challenged by the administration before a Division Bench, which had dismissed the appeal, upholding the earlier judgment. On this, Justice Hakim Imtiyaz sough the Division Bench order copy, which was furnished by Qayoom. After hearing the arguments, Justice Hakim Imtiyaz asked the authorities to produce Aasiya in person before the Court on Monday August 2, the next date of hearing into the writ petition. He, however, reserved his orders regarding the action to be taken against Commissioner Secretary Home and SP Jail for failing to comply with High Court orders by 31st July. »
