Chaves Describes Israeli Foreign Minister Liebermann As Mafia Boss
12 August 2009
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has described Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Liebermann as a "mafia boss" in retaliation to the latter charges against him. Chavez, in a statement published by the Hebrew daily Ha'aretz' on Friday, said that Lieberman is under investigation for money laundering and could face charges for alleged corruption. Liebermann, for his part, had accused Chavez of cooperating with radical Islamic movements. Chavez had expelled the Israeli ambassador to Venezuela during the latest Israeli war on Gaza Strip and expressed readiness to lead the third lifeline convoy of humanitarian aid to the Strip, as announced by British MP George Galloway. Netanyahu’s remarks prove that usurped rights are restored by force MP Mushir Al-Masri, the secretary-general of Hamas parliamentary bloc, stated Sunday that the remarks made by Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu about the mistake of Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip confirmed that the usurped rights are restored by force and not by begging and negotiations. In a press release, MP Masri stressed that the Israeli occupation was routed by the Palestinian resistance fighters in Gaza. “Netanyahu’s remarks run roughshod over the illusions lived by the [PA] negotiators and all attempts of propitiation and begging they make,” the lawmaker highlighted. Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu told his cabinet on Sunday that he would not repeat the Gaza withdrawal mistake in the West Bank. For its part, Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, scoffed at Netanyahu’s remarks, affirming that the Palestinian resistance forced the IOF troops to escape from Gaza. Spokesman for the Brigades Abu Obeida said that such Israeli statements about its reluctance to end its occupation of the West Bank came after former PA chief Mahmoud Abbas’s security apparatuses ensured the security of Israeli settlements and settlers and worked on eliminating all forms of resistance against the occupation. “There is no need to evacuate the settlements in the West Bank in the eyes of Netanyahu because he was able to create a [Palestinian] authority protecting the settlers and guiding them back if they mistakenly entered the territory of the authority,” the spokesman underscored.
