Jewish Settlers Burn Palestinian Crops: Zionists Amy Confessions To Committing War Crimes
17 July 2009
NABLUS, (PIC)-- Jewish settlers on Wednesday burnt more than 25 dunums of Palestinian lands in Burqa village near the evacuated settlement of Homesh to the west of Nablus city on Wednesday, locals reported. They said that the lands owned by five Palestinians were planted with olive trees. The sources noted that the settlers have escalated their assaults on Palestinian farms this summer in the hope of annexing those lands after their owners desert them. Also on Wednesday, Israeli police rounded up 81 Palestinian workers in the lands occupied in 1948 for "illegal" residence. The Israeli police routinely arrest hundreds of those workers for not possessing necessary work permits. Many of them are imprisoned, fined and humiliated before the IOF return them to the West Bank. Human rights organizations reported that some of those laborers are asked to work for the Israeli intelligence in return for granting them work permits. Five Palestinians were detained in northern West Bank at the hands of Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday while two others were arrested in Qalqilia in the afternoon for throwing stones at settlers' vehicles. IOF soldiers kidnapped two Palestinian teenagers in the village of Ya'bad, Jenin district, at a late hour on Wednesday. IOF confessions solid proof of committing war crimes Hamas on Wednesday said that the confessions by Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to the Israeli Breaking the Silence organization were obvious evidence that IOF soldiers committed war crimes during the latest war on Gaza Strip. Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, said in a press release that the soldiers confessed to deliberately targeting civilians, using them as human shields, intensifying shootings and unjustifiably destroying houses. He said that the confessions made it impossible for Israel to deny responsibility over war crimes in Gaza. The credibility of international organizations especially the international arbitration court was now facing a real test, Abu Zuhri said, adding that it was no longer acceptable to ignore those crimes and the confessions of those who committed them. Those responsible for such crimes must stand trial before the international court, he emphasized. Breaking the Silence is an organization of veteran Israeli soldiers that collects testimonies of soldiers who have served in the occupied Palestinian territories.
