Palestinian Factions Maintain Resistance Legitimate Right: Israeli Crimes Shame On Humanity
6 June 2009
KHAN YOUNIS, (PIC)-- Five Palestinian resistance factions condemned in a joint statement on Friday Ramallah's security forces killing of Qassam Brigades commanders in Qalqilia. The factions, meeting in Khan Younis south of the Gaza Strip, said that the meeting was allocated for discussing the regretful incidents in the West Bank against resistance fighters and means of halting any further deterioration resulting from those incidents. The factions stressed in principle that resistance was a legitimate right for the Palestinian people in face of the Israeli occupation and all should preserve resistance weapons and fighters and none should not target them. They demanded an investigation into those incidents and the trial of all those responsible for them. "The Zionist enemy is the only one benefiting from such incidents," they said, underlining that it was always seeking to terminate resistance. The factions, which included Hamas, Islamic Jihad, DFLP, PFLP-GC and Saiqa, called for preparing the atmosphere for returning to comprehensive national dialog. HRW: Israeli crimes in Gaza, Lebanon shame on humanity Richard Dicker, the director of Human Rights Watch's international justice program, has described the Israeli war crimes in the Gaza Strip and south Lebanon as a shame on humanity. The Syrian news agency quoted Dicker as saying on Friday that Israel committed serious war crimes in its latest war on Gaza Strip and other crimes in its aggression on south Lebanon in July 2006 without being brought to account. He said that the HRW collected evidence that authenticated those crimes. For his part, Jeremy Corbyn, the British MP, charged that Israel was posing a serious nuclear threat to the Middle East region. He told Al-Jazeera TV network that Israeli owns nuclear warheads and did not sign the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Corbyn opined that there could be no Middle East free of nuclear weapons unless Israel was ready to get rid of its nuclear warheads.
